Landscape Crew Member - Full Time - $15.69 - $20.00 per hour

Position Description:

Mundo Verde is actively recruiting for Landscape Crew Members to join our team. The Landscape Crew Member is part of the Mundo Verde Maintenance & QA Team dedicated to the care of established lawns as part of overall landscape maintenance and their responsibilities include full maintenance of lawn care. Additionally, there is $500 sign on bonus eligibility upon 90 days from the start date for a limited period for experienced Landscape Crew Members.

Work Environment:

The Landscape Crew Member position requires a 90% outdoor and 10% Indoor work environment. The person must be able to work in hot, dusty, rainy, or cold conditions. In addition, the position requires travel between work locations, communication with customers and other team members. The position requires use of lawn care equipment including protective gear, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection, computers, tablets, cameras, cell phones and vehicles. Early morning starts and occasional weekend work may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Landscape Maintenance: Mow, edge, and trim lawns using appropriate equipment
  • Plant Care: Plant, water, fertilize, and prune flowers, shrubs, and trees
  • Groundskeeping: Rake, mulch, and maintain landscape beds, ensuring a neat and healthy appearance
  • Installation: Assist with the installation of landscape features such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and irrigation systems
  • Pest Control: Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides as necessary
  • Clean-Up: Remove debris, leaves, and litter from work sites
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on landscaping tools and equipment
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment

Experience Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in irrigation system installation and maintenance
  • Licensed Irrigator preferred but required
  • Valid Texas driver’s license required and willingness to travel to project sites
  • Knowledge of irrigation system components including sprinklers, valves, controllers, and piping
  • Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and blueprints
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring strength, such as digging, lifting, and weorking in various weather and conditions

Irrigation Technician - Full Time

Position Description:

Mundo Verde is actively recruiting for an Irrigation Technician to join our team. The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for Mundo Verde commercial landscape clients. This role ensures that all irrigation systems operate efficiently and effectively to maintain the health and appearance of landscapes.

The Irrigation Technician position requires a 90% outdoor and 10% Indoor work environment. The person must be able to work in hot, dusty, rainy, or cold conditions. In addition, the position requires travel between work locations, communication with customers and other team members. The position requires use of irrigation system equipment, computers, tablets, cameras, cell phones and vehicles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repair:

  • Perform regular inspections of irrigation systems to identify leaks, clogs, and other issues
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning irrigation components including valves, sprinklers pumps, and controllers

Installation and Setup (if needed):

  • Install new irrigation systems including sprinklers, valves pipes, and controllers
  • Lay out and connect drip and micro-irrigation systems
  • Program irrigation controllers according to landscape requirements and local water regulations
  • Adjust and calibrate irrigation systems to ensure proper coverage and efficient water use

System Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor irrigation systems for optimal performance, adjusting as needed to ensure event water distribution
  • Conduct water audits to identify areas for improvement in water efficiency
  • Implement water conservation practices and technologies, such as rain sensors and smart controllers

Customer Service:

  • Communicate with clients to understand their irrigation needs and provide recommendations for system improvements
  • Respond promptly to client requests for service and repairs
  • Educate clients on the proper use and maintenance of their irrigation systems
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, maintenance, and repairs
  • Prepare reports on system performance, including water usage and maintenance activities
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local codes and regulations

Experience Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience in irrigation system installation and maintenance
  • Licensed Irrigator preferred but required

Lawn Care Specialists - Full Time

The Lawn Care Specialist is part of the Mundo Verde Maintenance & QA Team dedicated to the care of established lawns as part of overall landscape maintenance. Lawns beautify and enhance our environment, returning oxygen to the air we breathe, controlling soil erosion and deflecting noise and light. Verdant lawns add value to the customer’s property. The Lawn Care Specialist’s responsibilities include full maintenance of lawn care while utilizing knowledge of pesticides and chemicals.

Position Responsibilities:

Lawn Care Quality, Efficiency and Unparalleled Customer Service

  • Overall knowledge and experience in the following, not limited to: Regional types of turf, Common diseases and infestations, Chemical application programs; Fertilization
  • Ensures the proper treatment and application of fertilizers and other chemicals to control the suspected or diagnosed disease to stimulate the growth of turf and/or to prevent and control the growth of weeds on the turf of the property.
  • Assist in the development of customized weed treatment programs based on evaluation and customer needs.
  • Ensures that chemical and personal equipment safety guidelines are followed, including training of lawn maintenance crews.

Back-End Company Operations

  • Ongoing issues, concerns

  • Participate in weekly project meetings. Must be prepared to provide updates for projects.
  • Pursue sales opportunities, new customers, projects.

Experience Requirements and Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years horticultural work experience
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience
  • Commercial Pesticide Applicator license preferred
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license required and willingness to travel to project sites
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Company’s Operating Software
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to understand irrigation systems, landscape planting, and basic trouble shooting.
  • Knowledge of soil testing, lawn evaluation, watering requirements, fertilizer, and pesticide application
  • Familiarity with lawn care equipment use and maintenance
  • Customer Service skills including written and verbal communication
  • Team player
  • Available for some weekend work expected.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) helpful but not required.
  • Non-commercial Agricultural Pesticide Applicator License

Construction Project Management - Full Time

Position Description:

Mundo Verde is recruiting a Construction Project Manager to join our team. The Project Manager collaborates closely with owners, management team and field employees. Additionally, the role is responsible for all aspects of the construction projects. Suitable candidates will be accountable for establishing successful and profitable projects. This role will also help achieve project goals and time schedules and have responsibilities including project planning, quality delivery, work force planning, technical practices, safety, professionalism, and job profitability. Lastly, the project manager will have the ability to manage multiple projects sites daily.

Work Environment:

Overall environment will include Indoor and outdoor work, operating computer, use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Ability to travel to and from meetings, project locations, training sessions or other business-related events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Construction Project Manager will monitor the progress of multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise construction projects from start to finish
  • Ultimate Responsibility for the successful Project Completion
  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and final delivery.
  • Quality Control: Oversee all construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
  • Permitting and Compliance: Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained and that the project complies with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors, ensuring clear terms and conditions.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process.
  • Assist in Preparing and Submitting Payment Applications
  • Schedule delivery of materials in coordination with project timeline
  • Communicate with all relevant parties regarding status of project including but not limited to customers, general contractors, site superintendents, designers/architects, and installation crew leaders
  • Work and Coordinate with Operations Manager and Crews Leaders to resolve issues in the field as needed
  • Visit job sites as needed and participate in production meetings
  • Receive delivery of equipment shipped to company headquarters and storage
  • Able to Read Plans and Perform Detailed Material Take-Offs

Experience Requirements and Qualifications:

  • At Least 5 Years of related project management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree required with preference in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License required and willingness to travel to project sites
  • International Residential Code (IRC) License preferred
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or other relevant certifications are a plus
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD)
